Outsource Your Headaches
Outsource your headaches.
You might be absolutely amazing at quite a few things, but there’s always that one (or double handful) of tasks that takes up way too much of your time, you absolutely hate, and that you’re really not that great at anyway.
So outsource them.
And get creative here. There are platforms like Fiverr and Upwork that allow you to hire people for pretty cheap to get some things done. Might not be the best quality 100% of the time, but it gets that task out of your hair and done, instead of eating at you on your to-do list. Upgrade that to directly hiring freelancers or employees to be members of your team. You can get more consistent quality and someone you can work with long term, which translates into consistently better results in whatever project you’re working on. Barter with friends, peers, or group members. See if there’s an app or a widget that can handle these tasks for you. Shell out a little money for software if that’s the right tool for the job.
Because there is absolutely NO reason to waste your genius on things that suck the life out of you.
Think I’m just talking about business? Absolutely not! Things you can outsource, that will free up your time, energy, and brain:
Graphic and web design
Sewing (I am a seamstress and textile artist. When I have too much hand sewing to do, I hand it off to a quilter who LOVES it. I trade her with hand dyed fabrics for her own work.)
Finances and taxes
Pretty much anything that doesn’t require YOUR specific skillset can be done by someone else. You are freed up to be more creative, more productive, and have more enjoyment in your life, and they benefit by getting paid for doing work that they are brilliant at. It’s a win-win. You don’t have to do everything yourself.
